The Laguna Platinum Series 14/43 and 16/43 lathes are an affordable lathe with the capacities to meet the needs of discriminating woodturners. The cast-iron bed and legs provide solid support for the headstock, tailstock, and tool rest to reduce vibration when turning. The headstock slides the entire bed length and swivels 360 degrees with positive locks at 90 and 45 degrees to provide optimum positioning of your work piece and to turn outboard. The banjo comes standard with an extension and a 12" tool rest to accommodate larger stock and outboard turning. The variable speed control lever is conveniently located on the headstock to control the drive pulley. The headstock and tailstock are drilled to allow for through-boring and vacuum chucking. The legs have cast gussets to allow users to install a 2 x12 shelf for additional weight or tool storage.
